5 km from our Eco Lodge, there is a lake known by locals as “CBA Dam”. A kayak or boat ride will take you on an exciting adventure, where you will feel embraced by the banks full of untouched vegetation of the Atlantic Forest. A calm afternoon adrift will provide you with a unique experience.
The history of the Alecrim Dam
The Ribeirão da Anta community is a village of residents that has existed for generations in an Atlantic Forest reserve. The lake, known as the CBA Reservoir, is of great importance to the community and was considered a great asset to the land, which was the main reason why the first inhabitants of the village settled in this region. In 1974, the dam was built, bringing the waters even closer to the village, a benefit for the community that used the lake for fishing and water supply.
Increased mobility due to the lake has also allowed the village’s produce to be transported more efficiently to other parts of the community. The residents of Ribeirão da Anta have a deep respect for their community’s waters and make great efforts to preserve them.
Kayak Options
The lake at Eco Lodge Salve Floresta comes from a local spring and rainfall, which permanently maintains a variable amount of water. Surrounded by vegetation and trees along the shore, it is possible to practice kayaking, which is suitable for beginners and especially for children. A great activity for both sunny and cloudy days.
In partnership with the caboclo community, for an additional cost, we also offer our guests a kayaking experience at the CBA Reservoir. The activity is always accompanied by a local and experienced guide. The difference will be noticed along the way, when the guide will share all the information about the fauna, flora and curiosities about the National Park. The tour lasts approximately 4 hours, with a destination of one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the region. Kayaking around the CBA Reservoir is a unique experience, which will allow you to explore incredible places and landscapes, in addition to the water's edge.
